The Sakura Pathology Network (SPN) is an invitation-only European network that brings together early-career pathologists and emerging pathology leaders to exchange ideas, build connections and contribute to the future of the profession, ultimately supporting better cancer diagnostics.

SPN creates a two-way exchange. It gives members a platform to connect, share perspectives, and turn ideas into practical initiatives, while providing Sakura Finetek Europe with valuable outside-in perspectives on the evolving needs of pathologists and laboratories across Europe.

SPN officially launches at the European Congress of Pathology (ECP) 2026 in Stockholm, with a founding group of members representing different countries, institutions and areas of expertise.

Why SPN?

  • Connect the next generation of pathology leaders across Europe.
  • Listen to the profession and understand its evolving challenges, needs and opportunities.
  • Exchange knowledge and perspectives across countries and institutions.
  • Explore topics shaping pathology, including digitalisation, AI, automation, standardisation, training and laboratory transformation.
  • Create practical outputs through webinars, publications, expert discussions and educational initiatives.
  • Contribute to the wider conversation on the future of pathology and cancer diagnostics.

What members can expect

Over the coming two years, members will contribute to webinars, educational activities, thought leadership initiatives and discussions on topics shaping the future of pathology across Europe.
