My story

Hi, I’m Carola Hoogeveen and I'm the Manager of Marketing Communications here at Sakura Finetek Europe B.V.

I got my start in healthcare as a sales manager in the pharmaceutical industry, and worked my way up to product manager at GSK, responsible for their biggest brand category, asthma and COPD, in the Netherlands. When I got to Sakura Finetek, I started as a brand and communications manager. Now I’m responsible for the entire marketing communications team.

Over the last few years, a number of things have changed within the company. For example, my team and I have implemented a new website and an impactful brand story. Today, people know you from the products you sell, and tomorrow they remember you from the story you told. My ambition for Sakura Finetek marketing communications is to take great stories about people and technology and use them to expand Sakura's excellent brand in the European market.

My experience with Sakura as an employer? Sakura is a privately held company owned by a Japanese family, and to me, Sakura feels like a family. A group of engaged people who are highly focused and passionate about doing work that matters: empowering professionals to improve on their work in cancer diagnostics. It's a stimulating and challenging environment, and I find that I have a lot of freedom to realise my ideas and ambition.

My story

Hello, my name is Christiane Kahnt and I’m the Business Development and Corporate Accounts Manager in Germany for Sakura Finetek Europe B.V.

After my studies, I worked for 10 years in various research and haematology laboratories. I ended up establishing a lab for bone marrow and stem cell transplantation and flow cytometry. In 2000 my former employer, Dako, offered me a job in their healthcare company as part of the immunological team in Flow Cytometry. After four years working in that team, I switched gears and entered the pathology market; specifically, immunohistochemistry (IHC).

I started my career at Sakura Finetek in February 2014. I brought 13 years’ worth of IHC and molecular Pathology knowledge to the table, as well as a handful of faithful customers. At Sakura Finetek, I could get further insights into turnaround time and automation. With consultative selling being one of the key drivers at Sakura, I could open up the conversation to learn more about our customers.

I like the innovation that takes place at Sakura! Here, I have expanded my network. I’m enabled to have solid discussions with our customers to answer questions and gain information on the latest market trends and developments. And to better understand their needs and wants. It’s really a win/win situation.

My story

Greetings! My name is Mads Kristensen and I am the Manager Application Specialist and Implementation Consultant for the North Region of Sakura Finetek Europe B.V.

During secondary school, I fell in love with biology and how the body works. After completing secondary school, I moved to Copenhagen to study at a biomolecular sciences school. Following a traineeship at the Pathology Department in Aalborg, I applied for a vacant position there and got it. One and a half years later, I came to work at Sakura Finetek.

I have always been eager to learn new things and have a Pippi mentality (“I haven’t tried that before, so that’s what I’m going to do.”) This has helped me both to develop as a person and to understand my strengths and weaknesses. Because I’m surrounded by colleagues and leaders who support my willingness to learn, I’ve continued working at Sakura Finetek.

In the countries and regions I cover, I have a good bond with all the employees and leaders with whom I collaborate. We do a lot of sparring in regard to work. Travelling on such a regular basis for my job, I have come to know people on a personal level, which has created friendships and made the work easier and more enjoyable.
