Launch of Tissue-Tek SmartConnect®, the automated transferring system, in October 2020.
The Tissue-Tek SmartConnect® is officially launched as a step towards a fully automated workflow in the histopathology laboratory. The new tissue transferring system eliminates non-value-added tasks in the lab, empowering lab technicians to focus on what matters - resulting in fast and accurate diagnosis.
The key to the SmartConnect is SARA. The robotic arm on the SmartConnect transfers processed tissue from the Tissue-Tek Xpress® x120 (Continuous Rapid Tissue Processor) towards the Tissue-Tek AutoTEC® a120 (Automated Embedder), without any human intervention. It ensures safe tissue handling and frees up time for lab technicians to focus on skilled value-added tasks.
